Followed by the Index, 26p. And preceded by: Addresses of J. Minelli, 17p. Index capita, 4p. Valerri Maximi vita, 1p. With title page, very rich allegorical engraved frontispiece: medallion Claudius Nero Tiberius; the she-wolf of Rome; battle scene overlooking and dungeon at the foot. Vignette on the title and 10 small initials. Original text framed by comments in a smaller font. Interior generally clean; waterstain at the head at the beginning of the volume. Corner, fields, covers rubbed, but good. Joints rubbed but intact. Rubbed back with scuffs on the nerves; a wormhole in the nerves of the head; headdress and tail with restoration. Jan Minelli (1625-1683), born and died in Rotterdam, was a commentator of the classical authors: Sallust, Valerius Maximus, Florus, Terence…
