Frontispice. Epistle to Monsieur le Marquis de Seignelay. 4p. Then the text. Complete with its 82 plates. Note an incorrect placement of the plates for plates 46, 47, 48 and 49; 79 and 80. Clean interior. Handwritten bookplate at the foot of Book Four. Some plates have been touched: briefly colored (frontispiece), more heavily (82), annotated (49 and 51) and briefly ironed (48, 52); line or trace (62); and a page coming off a little at the foot (plates 69-70). Some pages stained at the foot by ink or water stains. The address header has also been colored. Corners and fields rubbed, corners slightly dulled. Covers rubbed with scuffs and stains. Spine in good condition, rubbed on the nerves, headpiece and tail with scuffs but intact. Sébastien Le Clerc (1637-1714), engraver, designer, military engineer from Lorraine. The original edition had appeared in 1669 by Thomas Jolly.
