Half black morocco with corners, spine with faux-nerves decorated with the title and the author, edge of red head, preserved covers, pretty small pebbled paper with golden reflections on covers and tales 260 x 248, 92p. Excluding plate indexes. Undated. 1945 ca. With a beautiful dated letter signed by the author and addressed to Charles Fries in half-title. And two bookplates: E.D.M. Fries on the back of the first guard of the binding. And on guard of the named exemplary text: “Charles Fries”. With 16 woodcuts by Hermann Verbaere, Preface by the mayor of Ghent: Alfred Vanderstegen. Very good interior, clean and intact, very firm. Corners and fields rubbed with scuffs/scratches. Flats and jaws rubbed with some scuffs, but very good. Back in good condition, but nerves rubbed with scuffs; headdress and tail rubbed.

 

Joint : Légendes et contes populaires gantois, Paul de Ryck Broché à rabats, 277 x 216, 67 p. 1955. Avec une introduction et notes de Paul de Keyser. Avec 5 dessins hors texte pleine page de Alex Wauters. Intérieur insolé mais très bon, propre et intègre (une tête de rabat corné). Un ex-libris manuscrit en tête de titre. Couvertures et dos légèrement insolés et frottés mais propres et quasi intègres : une micro-déchirure sans manque en tête de dos. Exemplaire recouvert proprement sans adhésif
